POSITION SUMMARY:

The Financial Consultant in Training role offers a clear, supported pathway into financial consulting. Candidates will gain mentorship, in-depth product knowledge, and client engagement experience within a community-focused banking environment. This role builds a foundation for delivering comprehensive financial solutions tailored to individual and small business needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES:

    Partner with seasoned Financial Consultants to observe client interactions and financial planning strategies

    Educate customers on basic banking, investment, and financial wellness options

    Assist in organizing and presenting financial education programs for the community

    Actively engage in branch-based outreach activities to connect with potential customers

    Collaborate across banking teams to identify cross-selling and referral opportunities

    Maintain documentation accuracy and compliance with supervisory oversight

    Administer and maintain system records within the ADP HR/Payroll system, including attendance tracking, vacation scheduling, and performance assessments to ensure accurate and efficient management of employee data

    Actively participate in community engagement efforts to enhance the bank’s visibility and attract business opportunities

    Monitor and recommend improvements in department operations and customer service strategies

    Ensure completion of all required training, certifications, and continuing education credits.

    Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental objectives

REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

    High School Diploma, or equivalent, required

    Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent professional experience in customer service or financial services) preferred

    Demonstrated interest in financial education, planning, or community-based service

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

    • To continue in the role and be considered for a Financial Consultant position, candidate must attain the following licenses/designations within one (1) year of hire:
    • FINRA Series 7
    • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam
    • FINRA Series 63 & 65 or Series 66
    • Life, Accident, and Health Insurance license
